Installing a Vortex Valve™ on your BMW 528i 1998 is as easy as 1,2,3.
Make sure the engine is off. Always wear gloves when working on machinery that is not running. We will be doing our Vortex Valve™install on the right side of the engine as you look at it from the front.
Step 1
Using a flathead screwdriver we loosened the second clamp, leaving a section of flexible air intake duct still secured the throat of the manifold
Step 2
There are two clips at the other end of the duct section we are working on. One on each side. Using the flat head screwdriver, pop the clips open and push the section towards the firewall. Move it out of the way by turning it slightly counter clockwise to give you access to the section of the air intake duct that is clamped to the throat of the manifold.
Step 3
Install a 4309-5C Vortex Valve™in the section of flexible air intake duct still secured the throat of the manifold. The flat side always faces the engine. Reconnect the center piece of the air intake duct, tighten the clamp closest to the firewall and snap the clips back into place on the sides towards the front of the section You are ready to surprise some people ... including yourself. On the open road or in wall-to-wall traffic you've got more torque and power and response plus increased mileage too.
