Installing a Vortex Valve™ on your Chevy Cavalier 2002 is as easy as 1,2,3.

Step 1

Chevy Cavalier 2002 install step 3 Make sure the engine is off. Always wear gloves when working on machinery that is not running. We have to remove the air box that has 2200 on it. Following are the steps and a few things we found out.

Use a slot screwdriver to loosen the clamp on the air intake duct where it meets the air box with 2200 on it. Like the picture at the right.

When you pull the Air Intake Duct off the 2200 air box this is what it looks like. At least in California.

You have to disconnect this little vacuum line from the 2200 air box.

Remove a 10mm bolt on the 2200 air box, it's on the left hand side, more to the front. After you have removed the bolt, put it in a safe place, grab the box firmly, with both hands, and move it from side to side while gently pulling up.

Step 2

Chevy Cavalier 2002 install step 3 This is what you see when you look over the backside of the engine. The throat of the throttle body. Install the Vortex Valve™inside the throat of the throttle body, like the picture at the right.


Step 3

Chevy Cavalier 2002 install step 3 Slide the 2200 air box back over the Vortex Valve™and the throttle body. Press down and move from side to side until the unit is seated. Replace the 10 mm bolt and the vacuum hose. Reconnect the Air Intake Duct and tighten the clamp. You are ready for the open road or wall-to-wall traffic with plenty of power and response and great mileage too.
