Installing a Vortex Valve™ on your Chevy Tahoe 2000 is as easy as 1,2,3.
Step 1
Make sure the engine is off. Always wear gloves when working on machinery that is not running. No tools needed for this install. You will find a tall plastic wing nut in the middle of the air box assembly. Loosen and remove it. Put it in your pocket.
Step 2
We pulled back the air intake system like the picture at the left. Sorry the picture is so dark. The shiny thing towards the bottom is the throat of the throttle body.
Step 3
We pulled the whole air box assembly back so you could get a peek at the Vortex Valve™ Install. The air box assembly has two feet that fit into stirrups. They are towards the back of the assembly. Install a 4309-7C Vortex Valve™ in the air intake duct with the flat side facing the engine, just like the picture at the left. Slide the air intake duct back over the throat of the throttle body and gently wiggle it back into place. Make sure the entire air box assembly is firmly seated. Replace and tighten the wing nut. It's supposed to be in your pocket. You are ready for the open road or wall-to-wall traffic with plenty of extra power and surprising low-end response and improved gas mileage too.
