Clark CGC 25 2000 Vortex Valve™ Installation

HERE'S A CLARK CGC 25 PROPANE POWERED FORK LIFT. THIS GUY IS RATED AT 2,500 POUNDS – THAT'S OVER A TON. ALBERTO, THE DRIVER AND WAREHOUSE FORMAN SAYS HE'S READY FOR NASCAR. That's just a small indication of how well this forklift is running after we installed a Vortex Valve™. Here's a little Clark trivia for you forklift buffs. The Platform Truck, the predecessor to the modern forklift, was first fielded by Clark Equipment Co. to solve a materials handling problem at their Buchanan, Michigan plant in 1917. It led to great advances in materials handling. Alejandro loads and unloads and moves between 50 and 100 tons of tile and carpet every day. We'll have propane numbers on the before and after the Vortex Valve™ installation for the month of April 2005. We will compare the propane usage in April of 2004 with this month and the last few months also. We should have preliminary numbers for you in mid May. Check back.

Installing a Vortex Valve™ on your Clark CGC 25 2000 is as easy as 1,2,3.

Step 1

Clark CGC 25 2000 install step 6 Make sure the engine is off. Always wear gloves when working on machinery that is not running.

First you have to tilt the steering wheel all the way forward and lift the seat. The picture at the left is what you see. Notice the duct coming from the air cleaner to the manifold. Using a flathead screwdriver we loosened the clamp where it holds the air intake duct to the throttle.

Step 2

Clark CGC 25 2000 install step 6 We loosened the clamps on both ends of the front section of the duct. Then there are two vacuum hoses, one pictured at the left and one on the other side of the duct. Disconnect them. Now you can remove the far end, closest to the manifold and install a 7309-8C Vortex Valve™with the flat side facing the engine, like the picture at the right.

Step 3

Clark CGC 25 2000 install step 6 Slide the air intake duct back over the manifold and tighten the clamps and replace the two vacuum hoses. You are ready to use less fuel to do the same things you do every day. Also, pollution output in the warehouse is lowered considerably. Save some money and be environmentally responsible at the same time.
