INSTALLING A VORTEX VALVE™ ON A CLASS 8 MOTOR WITH A SPRING REINFORCED HOSE FROM THE INTERCOOLER TO THE MANIFOLD.

7/16 DEEP WELL SOCKET

Loosen the spring-loaded clamp where the hose joins the manifold. Remove the hose from the manifold. Push the spring up into the hose approximately 2½ inches. Spread the Vortex Valve™ apart about an inch and then collapse it and insert it into the hose with the vanes (fins) facing the intercooler.

Push the Vortex Valve™ into the hose about ½ an inch. Make sure the flat side is facing the manifold. NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO ALTER THE SHAPE OF THE VORTEX VALVE™ DURING INSTALLATION. Grip the hose at least 6 inches above the Vortex Valve™ with both hands. Using equal pressure on both sides, wiggle the hose back and forth over the manifold until it is returned to its original position. The Vortex Valve™ will seat, metal to metal, against the face of the manifold. The manifold is discolored, like the picture above, where the hose should be clamped down. Tighten the clamp. You are good to go. You now have great mileage and extra gears on those long hills.
