Installing a Vortex Valve™ on your Ford Explorer 4.0L V6 is as easy as 1,2,3.

Step 1

Ford Explorer 4.0L V6 install step 4 Make sure the engine is off. Always wear gloves when working on machinery that is not running. After removing the cowling, if you have to, there is one screw to loosen where the air intake duct meets the manifold. Slot screwdriver will do the trick.


Step 2

Ford Explorer 4.0L V6 install step 4 Then, pull the air duct back gently, but firmly, with a little side to side wiggle until it comes loose.


Step 3

Ford Explorer 4.0L V6 install step 4 Install a 4309-6C Vortex Valve™ inside the air intake duct, like the photo. Slide the air intake duct back over the throttle body and tighten the clamp. You are ready for the open road or wall-to-wall traffic with plenty of power and response and great mileage too.
