Installing a Vortex Valve™ on your Ford F150 5.4 V8 is as easy as 1,2,3.
Step 1
Make sure the engine is off. Always wear gloves when working on machinery that is not running. First we had to remove the shroud that covers the end of the air intake duct. It was two 10mm bolts on the driver's side and one on the passenger side. Don't misplace the bolts. We used a nut driver but a socket will do just as well.
Step 2
Using a flathead screwdriver we loosened the clamp where it holds the air intake duct to the throttle body.
Step 3
We pulled back the air intake like the picture at the left. Installed a 4309-5C Vortex Valve™ in the air intake duct with the flat side facing the engine. Slide the air intake duct back over the throttle body and tighten the clamp. Then we replaced the shroud and tightened all three 10mm bolts. You are ready for the open road or wall-to-wall traffic with plenty of extra horsepower and response and great mileage too.
