Installing a Vortex Valve™ on your The Original Chevy Vortec® is as easy as 1,2,3.
Step 1
Make sure the engine is off. Always wear gloves when working on machinery that is not running. 
There are no tools needed for this install. Loosen and remove the wing nut. It's right behind the throttle body. The wing nut looks like this.
Step 2
With both hands, on both sides of the air box that has Vortec™on it, pull up and forward. The entire unit will move up. There is a spring clamp at the base of the throttle body. Pull forward gently and the whole unit will come free. You will be looking at the throat of the throttle body like the picture at the left.
Insert the Vortex Valve™right into the throat of the throttle body with the flat side down, towards the engine.
When the Vortex Valve™is installed correctly it looks like the picture at the right.
Step 3
Holding the air duct assembly at a 45° angle, fit the spring clamp into place on the front of the throttle body and push it home. Lower the air duct assembly until its feet return to their original position under the air box with Vortec™on it. Replace and tighten the wing nut. You are ready for extra big loads with plenty of power and response and increased mileage too.
